My Philosophy

In my search for a musical language of my own, I encountered a wide range of cultures, styles, perspectives, and aspects of music.

At music schools and conservatories, however, I often experienced teaching that was shaped by a single perspective.

It was only through looking at music from different perspectives that I came to understand it as a whole: a universe with inner laws that reveals its true depth through diversity.

When we immerse ourselves in a particular culture, we encounter musical elements such as harmony, microtonality, or rhythm – refined to a level of mastery – while these same elements may play only a secondary role in other traditions.

This leads to a more comprehensive understanding – beyond the surface, where many didactic approaches tend to remain.

Ultimately, there is only one music: it is the universal language that connects all cultures of the world – a true world language. This insight shapes my thinking – and forms the foundation of my teaching.

Music offers an inexhaustible range of forms of expression. Each new perspective deepens our understanding – and allows us to glimpse a larger, fascinating whole. This sense of wonder is something I wish to share with my students.

Music is a wide-open, endless ocean – and the search for one’s own voice is a lifelong journey.

The Indian master Allauddin Khan once told his students: „Every note must touch your heart“  – I believe this is a good guide for anyone setting out on that journey.

At Guitar Academia, we create space for your voice – so it may become audible in the vast cosmos of music.
